Caution - Harsh Opinion Zone

The race to the PA Primary is heating up, and so am I. Unless I am living in a black hole, I am not finding the same opinions among my friends and acquaintances that I hear from the “polls and pundits”. For those of us who are still deciding, the perspectives of the TV know-it-alls are offensive, if not absurd. The very idea that educated people are backing Obama as opposed to “non-college educated” voters supporting Clinton is not only insulting to everyone, it is blatantly biased in its delivery. Furthermore, I understand that younger people, by in large, support Obama as opposed to the older voter who leans toward Clinton. With all that in mind, I would suggest there are closet Clinton supporters out there who not only think it politically incorrect to put down the African American candidate by choosing the woman, but who would prefer not to be considered un-hip, old, and lacking education. Outside their intimate circle they agree with the Obama movement to fit in. How about fat people? Where do they weigh in? (Sorry) Do only thin people support Obama? Does that sound farfetched? I don’t think so. The illusion is that Obama is the smart choice by the “in crowd” and I absolutely believe that even the mainstream news media is unabashedly giving Obama an easier ride than Clinton. I truly have not made up my mind. I just resent the lopsided coverage.

I also think if we believe this is the end of Pastor Wright, that’s just silly and unrealistic. Senator Obama, in my opinion, complicates matters by stating Friday on The View, that if his Pastor had not resigned, he would have left the church. So, let me get this straight. If Wright had stayed 20 years and ONE MONTH into Obama’s attendance, he was “outa there”? NOW he would leave the church? He couldn’t make that judgment call on his own over the last 20 years? I think that damages his believability. So why don’t interviewers ask that “one more question”? Why does everyone back off and walk on eggshells when something doesn’t make sense or ring true? If he wins as the Democratic candidate, we ain’t seen nuthin’ yet of the inevitable Wright smack down campaign from the Republicans. I believe McCain’s people are just idling by the side of the road. They don’t have to do a thing right now since the media is already attempting to defeat Hillary before the primary. If they show what they have on Obama now it might make some Democratic bigwigs sit up and take notice. (Just a theory and an opinion that does not reflect the opinion of anyone else writing on this site. Especially if I’m one of those old, dumb, fat Clintonizers.)

I will hopefully be attending a rally for Barack Obama next week. I expect to be completely captivated by this man. He definitely has star power. Enough to beat McCain if the going gets rough? This is what worries me. Even polled people vote in private.

  1. My worries are about what we don’t know about Obama yet…

His “Judgement” campaign has gone down to weak. He doesn’t have much experience and that is what he had to run on.
“Hope and Change” rhetoric has been used before, he just speaks better.

So, while I go through all the real research, I have found from the Actual law firm itself that Obama had nothing to do the asbestos claim. His claim to be a “24 year old mentor” with low income housing was doing what? Was he referring to Rezko? I can’t find anything. The more I see of this research, the more I just can’t find anything to really up Obama. Although he is a very good speaker.

  2. This is my concern, as well…..what we don’t know. At first I was worried because of the rhetoric, “We will come together”. I needed more substance. Then I gave him my full attention and support after the last debate, because I really liked how sincere he was and how he handled himself in such a calm way. Very important, I thought, as President to keep your eye on the ball of what’s important and leave ego out of it.

And then along came Jeremiah Wright, and I was shocked. I felt duped and betrayed by Obama. He suddenly didn’t appear to be who he said he was. That said, I am open to him winning me back over, but he hasn’t done it yet. He has made some wonderful speeches, but I am not interested in just electing a wordsmith. I need to know better the heart of the man behind those words.
