On Saturday in Washington DC, Senator Hillary Clinton will host an event to thank her many supporters and to express her support for Barack Obama and Democratic party unity. Last night, she had asked for a few days to figure out what to do, and today she huddled with her top advisors, donors and congressional supporters. As has been reported on throughout the day, many Democratic leaders, including staunch supporters like Rep. Rangel and Governor Ed Rendell, stated publicly that she should withdraw as soon as possible.
Following those meetings, she met with her staff to tell them that their last day would be Friday. The final event of her campaign was initially scheduled for Friday, but was moved to Saturday to better accommodate her many supporters wishing to attend.
