The latest ARG poll for the Pennsylvania primary puts Obama and Clinton each at 45%. The previous ARG PA poll on March 26th had Clinton up 51 to 39. Obama leads among men 53 to 36% Clinton leads among women 52 to 39%, down from 61 to 30% in the previous survey. The latest Pennsylvania Poll from Rasmussen has Obama up 1 and Clinton down 2. Clinton 49 Key Takeaway: Obama seems unhurt among PA Democrats from Wright, but this bitter nomination contest seems to be splitting the party. Obama is viewed favorably by 71% of Democrats, essentially unchanged from the 72% on the March 12th poll. Clinton’s Inspired by Carrie Budoff-Brown’s Politico anecdotes from a Philadelphia neighborhood bar, I went to a bar in Monroeville, an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh, to gauge the fallout of the Wright controversy and Obama’s speech on race. I went to the River Towne Pour House, an extremely popular middle-class bar in a middle-class suburb. Out of a bar population of Carrie Budoff Brown of Politico.com has an insightful article out today on the reactions of several blue-collar white voters in an ethnic neighborhood in Philadelphia. While many, myself included, thought that Obama’s speech on race was the best oratory on the topic in our adult lives, it did not go over so well in this Philadelphia neighborhood. Pundits have declared that this speech is make or break for Obama after a week of Wright’s comments and Ferraro’s assertions owning the political airwaves.
